Title: Quality initiatives in Middle East and Africa; Then, now and in the future 

 

Abstract:

The talk will address the historical evolution of quality in the Middle East and Africa. The impact of the current pandemic on the private and public sectors will be shared, with few examples from countries who have demonstrated resilience and navigated well through the pandemic.  Furthermore, the presentation will observe how countries such as UAE and KSA are forward-looking in the way they are advancing their national agendas for higher levels of Quality and Excellence in Government Smart Services, Manufacturing, Education, Healthcare and Renewable Energy among others.

 

Biography:

Nancy believes individuals and organizations can attain an ideal behavior by transforming their culture and aligning everyone in the organization towards the True North. With over 20 years of experience, she is a Chartered Business Excellence Professional based in the United Arab Emirates. A subject matter expert, senior assessor and judge for National Excellence, Innovation and Quality Professionals Awards. 

Her technical expertise is in culture transformation, change management, continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Kaizen, VSM etc.), CSR, Innovation Management, Suppliers Management, and ISO standards & auditing.  Nancy holds Masters’ degrees in Total Quality Management and in Agronomic Sciences & Bioengineering and several certifications from ASQ (CSQP, CQA, CSSGB). 

She believes in the value of social contribution and dedicates a considerable amount of her time to the American Society for Quality as a volunteer member leader and current Region Director for EMEA.
