Title: Key success factors for MTR – double recipient of the Swedish Quality Award – from a quality perspective
In this presentation Therese Ankare will share the development of MTR in Sweden from winning the tender for the Stockholm Metro and taking over in 2009 until today. The organization has made a transformation for which it has been awarded the Swedish Quality Award in 2014 and in 2018.
Therese Ankare has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lund University including an exchange year at Oklahoma State University. After studies she joined Deutsche Post’s graduate program in Brussels and Bonn and continued her career within the Deutsche Post Group at DHL Global Forwarding in Sweden where she was implementing Deutsche Post’s Six Sigma/Lean program.
2013 Therese was recruited to MTR to develop their WIT (Work Improvement Team) concept, an improvement methodology also inspired by Six Sigma and Lean. Nowadays Therese is responsible for all overall areas related to quality and environment for the entire MTR Nordic Group. The responsibilities include not only the WIT concept, but also the ISO 9001 and 14001 certificates, MTR management system with process mapping as well as sustainability reporting according to GRI, waste management and chemical management on a strategical level.
