Title: Leading in an Era of Digital Transformation
In this ever-evolving, fast-changing world, technology has exponentially changed industries and organizations from around the globe to respond to an increasingly digital market environment. To achieve the organizational goals, it is imperative for the leaders to understand the emerging digital technologies such as ‘internet of things,’ virtual reality, big data, machine learning, etc.
Since the pandemic situation, organizations are forced to accelerate their digital transformation initiatives which requires a strong digital leadership – from the way leaders are communicating, managing, and developing people in the organization. In this specific topic, Dr. Rey will share the approaches on how to be successful in leading in this era of digital transformation.

Rey is an executive with expertise leading teams in process excellence, transformation, and analytics across diverse businesses. In his stint in the multinational companies he worked for, he was recognized invarious company’s global awards like Spirit Award, Titan Excellence Award, Top Continuous Improvement
Champion Awards, to name a few, for leading and implementing multiple innovative improvement programs and projects that delivered significant value to the organization.
He is the President of the Philippine Society for Quality (PSQ) and a Faculty Member of an MBA program of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Open University, teaching Strategic Management.
He is one of the few Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt by the University of the Philippines National Engineering Center (UP NEC). He also got his certification on Six Thinking Hats® from the de Bono Group and the certification Certified Learning & Development Professional, an internationally accredited
certification of the Circa Logica Group.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution Singapore in Business Administration and in Research. Royal Institution Singapore is the umbrella organization of more than 300 Royal Institutes of various disciplines and professions. He is also a core Member of the Honorary Professional Certification Governance and Quality Council (HPCGQC) for the Operations Management Certification program of the Singapore Institute
of Multidisciplinary Professions (SIMP).
He is a recipient of the International Individual Award from the Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO) in 2017 and of the Quality Manager of the Year Award, a national quality award, from PSQ in 2015 before he became part of the PSQ Board in 2016. He was a Part-time Faculty member of the National University, taught Total Quality Management, Business Statistics, and Strategic Management, where he conceptualized and launched an annual quality event called Kaizen Festival that the university still administers in the present.
He was an Assessor of the Global Performance Excellence Award (GPEA) of APQO. GPEA is currently the only international award in science and technology management that recognizes the pursuit of Performance Excellence in organizations across countries and regions and is the only formal international
accreditation on performance excellence.
Rey is also an Assessor of the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). PQA is the highest national award program in the Philippines that recognizes achievements of public and private sector organizations in their journey towards performance excellence. He also held the Vice President for Conference role in APQO and the Convener of the 2017 International Quality Conference, collaborating with core council member countries and the Global Benchmarking Network (GBN).
He appeared in local and international conferences as a Resource Speaker and as a Keynote Speaker. He was also one of the few selected Judges from around the globe during the 2017 International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC).
He holds a Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) and MBA degrees from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. He was also a scholar of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and he was one of the few scholars of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) for the
Business Analytics course for IT-BPM under UP NEC.
More recently, he received the Young Researcher’s Award 2020 from the Institute of Scholars, Angel Opeña Award from PSQ, 2021 Global Leaders Award (Excellence in Leadership) and 2021 Global Educators Award – Innovation Category from Beyond Books Publication.
