Title: Introduction of Extension Innovation Method and its Application
The quality and innovation become critical success strategy for business sustainable development. Therefore, many quality professionals have extended their capability from quality to “Quality Innovation”. Many innovation experts would like to employ TRIZ as systematic innovation tools or approach for implementation of innovation project. Apart from TRIZ, we also find that another innovation method developed in China named “Extenics”. Extenics is defined as “a science which studies the possibility of extending things and rules and methods of developing innovation with formalized patterns, and is used to resolve contradictory problems.”
The founder Prof. Wen Cai started his research on Extenics (originally called Matter-element Analysis) since 1976. Extension innovation method is to bridge the Extenics theory in various practical fields especially suitable for proposal of new product and service, creativity in new projects and strategies, as well as, the solution for contradictory problems. In order to simplify the method for commercial / industrial application, four steps of extension innovation method is proposed. This talk aims to introduce the Extension Innovation Method and share some applications in Hong Kong.
