Title: Reliability and Prevention Beforehand

 

Abstract:
 We must make every effort to prevent serious problems of reliability and safety. The key to such prevention is “prediction”. Seven viewpoints for prediction are presented such as stresses, failure mechanism, and failure mode. Focusing on these seven viewpoints, a procedure for preventing problems and a new reliability engineering scheme are proposed. Keywords: failure mode; top event mode; prediction.
