Title: How NorDan AB actively apply the SIQ Management Model to become a better company in times of disruption.
The presentation shares key experiences from NorDan AB in Sweden and how the company actively applies the leadership principles, quality management models and quality tools that Sandholm Associates have contributed in developing and sharing over the last 5 decades. Furthermore, that Quality Management and Business Excellence work very well in the 21st century, in the age of disruptions, digitalization and sustainability.
NorDan AB is one of the leading companies for window and door products in the Swedish building industry. The company has for some years actively applied the SIQ Management Model as a compass and a map, on how to become a better company in times of disruption. The SIQ Management Model has given inspiration and provided new dimensions in the company’s efforts to align with the model and to perform better with regards to customers, leadership, employees and processes. Some of these new dimensions also address digitalization and sustainability, such as active sponsorships, innovations in additive manufacturing and modern materials, UN Sustainability Goals, digital showrooms and solar parks at the factories.
The company has three strategic directions (1) Profitable Growth, (2) Quality Management and (3) Sustainability. It has also gathered initiatives within digitalization and sustainability in a programme with the name “ecoDigital ready®”. The programme addresses, amongst others, in a very practical way how to meet and exceed customer expectations for digital- and sustainable solutions.
Dr. Dag Kroslid is Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the NorDan Group and Managing Director of NorDan AB in Sweden. He has more than 20 years of senior management experience in industry and he has also worked as management consultant.
Kroslid holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linköping University in Sweden. As part of the PhD studies, international research on strategies and practices relating to Business Excellence and Quality Management was conducted in more than 20 countries. He has published books and articles on Quality Management, 5S, Six Sigma and Lean.
